about Kingston

Kingston a beautiful, historic city of approximately 125,000 residents situated along the shores of Lake Ontario. Before Ottawa was named Canada’s capital, Kingston was the capital of the country.

Kingston is home to many different and interesting communities: Queen’s University, St. Lawrence College, The Royal Military College and six different corrections facilities provide a wealth of diversity in this surprisingly cosmopolitan city.

The historic, immaculately kept building, gorgeous vistas and superb hospitality sector make Kingston a vibrant destination for visitors, both domestically and internationally.

Kingston boasts a very strong running community. There a number of local Race events, lots of running groups (in addition to the KRRA), great running trails and more than a few places where you can get running gear.

Running tourists flock to Kingston from three major Canadian cities Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal, all of which are only 2.5 away.
