The KRRA Memberships and Race Series help to support many great causes and charities
in the Kingston area.
Some of the most significant KRRA support is for the
Start2Finish
Running and Reading Program, (formerly KidsFest) through Frontenac Public School and First Avenue
Public School in Kingston. In this program, volunteer coaches share their love of running, health, and
reading with disadvantaged kids in Kingston and promote a healthy lifestyle to public school
children grades 1 to 6. Please see the
KRRA
Messageboard for more information.

In addition to this, several KRRA Series races are direct sponsors of
organizations like:
Canadian Diabetes Association (Run With The Wild)
Kingston Symphony Association (Beat Beethoven)
Easter Seals (Flight at Fort Fright)
Children's Aid Society (Ks4Kids)
The KRRA is also pleased to support other important local charities like
The Limestone Learning Foundation and the
Kingston Humane Society and is also
pleased to encourage younger runners through kids races and "fun runs" at
several of our events.
As a final example, in 2011, the KRRA awarded two $500 bursaries to one male and one female
graduating high school runners. Click

the press release for this award. In 2012, these bursaries will again be awarded
to two graduating students from KASSAA schools. For full eligibility criteria,
please see the application form.
