Race Series for 2023 and onward

The KRRA Board of Directors, and Race Directors are always working hard to ensure the health and safety of members, while organizing KRRA Series races.

Due to the challenges our communities have faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, Race Events being live, cannot be 100% predictable. (The Resolution Run was – unfortunately – shifted from a live event to virtual.) Such decisions are generally beyond the control of the KRRA. Our Club heeds direction from protocols handed down by the Province, the City of Kingston, and venues we book.

Series counts 7 races maximum

All live Series races will allot the points as detailed below. Typically, a competing runner can tally points to a maximum of SEVEN (7) races. Award recipients are also required to participate in a minimum of four events.

The following events part of the 2023 Series include:

  • Resolution Run 8K
  • Twosome Run 5K
  • Limestone Race Weekend 5K, Waterfront 10K, Historic Half Marathon
  • Howe Island Hustle
  • Napanee Heritage 5K
  • Limestone Mile
  • Wolfe Island Classic 5K
  • Wooly Bully 10K
  • Glen Tay
  • Fort Henry Cross Country 5KXC
  • The County Marathon, Half Marathon distance
  • Anniversary Run

Important to note

Please keep in mind, in order to keep the KRRA healthy and viable, registrants need to understand refunds cannot be offered. The KRRA is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization. Revenue generated goes to expenses and community charities.

Thank you for your participation and understanding.

The KRRA board devised a points system to rank all Race Series participants. The goal of the revamped point system is to encourage “middle-of-the-pack” runners by recognizing their results with more value to their finishes. For example, a 1st place win will no longer score more points than four 5th place finishes. The Race Series has also been re-evaluated to give adjusted values to each race.

KRRA members (as of July 1) accumulate points throughout the year based on results in each race that they have entered, maximum of seven races count. Series awards are presented at the AGM in late November.
