DESCRIPTION:Glen Tay Block Race\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Event Details\n				The Glen Tay Block Race is a unique small-town race that was first run in 1907! The race course is a 14.7 km loop that starts and ends at the Perth Museum in downtown Perth. The race\, which has been held continuously since its reinstatement in 1967\, starts at 6 pm on the last Thursday of August and attracts runners from Kingston to Ottawa. The overall record of 44:28 was set in 2024 by Thomas Nobbs of Ottawa and the women’s record of 52:55 was set in 2022 by Michelle Krezonoski. DESCRIPTION:Fort Henry 5KXC & Kids 1KXC\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Event Details\n				The Kingston Road Runners Association (KRRA) presents their one-and-only annual cross country race. \nThe Fort Henry 5KXC cross country event at Fort Henry Hill takes place on a well-groomed trail overlooking Fort Henry\, RMC and the entire city. It is a closed course race used by many clubs and associations. The Kids 1KXC will take place prior to the 5K. It is part of the Kingston Kids Race Series. \nSwag\nThe branded beer glass will be handed out to the first 100 5KXC registrations. \nThe Kids 1KXC will be handing out the KKRS Finisher ribbon as part of the Kingston Kids Race Series. There are two divisions\, Youth (19 & under) and Open in the 5KXC. Each team will need to be made up of 2 male runners and 2 female runners. For a team to be considered Youth\, all runners must be under 19 as of January 1st\, 2026. If one runner is over 19\, they will be placed in the open division. There are no age restrictions in the Open Division. There will medals for top 3 teams in each division. Scoring will be done by placing with lowest score wins. \nExamples below:Team Scoring ExampleTeam A: 1\, 2\, 3\, 4 = 10Team B: 5\, 6\, 7\, 8 = 26Team C: 10\, 13\, 14\, 18 = 55Team D: 9\, 11\, 12\, 23 = 55 \nTie break will be based on the 4th runner. Team with the better 4th place finisher wins. In the example Team C beats Team D\, since Team C 4th runner (18th) placed better Team D 4th runner (23rd). \nTo register a team\, email forthenryrace@outlook.com with the four member names and a team name. In the subject line please put Team Entry Open or Youth. Team entry closes on 19 September 2025 at 23:59pm and there will be no day of entries for the team event. There is no additional cost however members must be entered in 5KXC race. \nIf a runner doesn’t finish\, the team is disqualified.Top 3 Teams in each category wins medals. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Awards & Prizes\n				Top Finisher medals for the overall fastest three males and females. Medals for top 3 in each age category: U19\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60-69\, 70-79\, 80+) for each gender. \nTop Finisher medals for the overall fastest three boys and girls in the Kids 1KXC (12yrs and younger) will be handed out (ribbons for all 1KXC finishers). \nMiddle-of-the-Pace Prize is given to the runner who places exactly in the middle of the pack of finishers\, donated by Runners’ Choice. \nDraw prizes will be given out during the Awards Ceremony for event respectively. You must be present to win. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Course Description\n				5KXC\nThe race course is 2.5km in length that has small rolling hills mostly covered with grass. It is the same loop used for National Cross Country course in 2018. Heading into 2026\, the marathon committee is more determined than ever to ensure that every participant has the best experience possible along the 42.2-kilometre route winding through the scenic Prince Edward County region. \nAll runners will capture the true essence of a countryside marathon\, enjoying the thrill of the run paired with the charm of local wineries\, stunning lake views\, and the warm hospitality for which “The County” is renowned. All races will continue to finish in Picton at the Fair Grounds\, with the full marathon (6:30AM bus departure for Wellington)\, and Half Marathon (8:00AM bus departure for East Lake) starting at their established locations. \nRelay runners will be bussed to their start location. Adequate parking is available at the Picton Fairgrounds. No parking is available at the start of the half or relay transitions. All transportation busses depart from the Picton Fairgrounds. \nWater 💦\, first aid ✚\, and port-o-potties are located every three kilometres for the first 21K. This is simple out-n-back for the runners and walkers. Series points awarded for this Race are 100 overall\, and 20 points for age category \nThe Kids 1-Miler is included in the Kingston Kids Race Series. \nAs well\, the Round the Airport / Anniversary Run is a partner and last of three running events which make up the Autumn Series. There’s even a 2K Tom Compton Memorial Run for kids.  It’s the original\, all-volunteer community event. \nThis running event is part of the KRRA RACE SERIES. Series points awarded for the 5K and 10K Races are 75 overall\, and 15 points for age category. His focus was to help students achieve their goals\, not only in the classroom\, but also in sports and physical activities.  We are proud to host this event\, with the support of his family\, in his honour. \nWaterfront 10K\nThe 10K route will take runners through the penitentiary and exit onto King Street West\, through the Olympic harbour ring road and link up with the Waterfront Trail.  This will include a segment through the Providence Care Hospital roadway network before continuing on the Lakefront Trail.  Runners will be guided to a turnaround location inside Lake Ontario Park near the corner of King Street West. Runners will return to the start/finish line\, on the east side of the penitentiary following the same network of trails and roads. \nSunday\n5K from City Hall\n \nHistoric Half Marathon\nThe Historic Half Marathon course makes an exciting detour. Half marathon runners are going to prison: the Kingston Penitentiary. Runners enter the south waterside entrance; run in the gate; through the prison yard; past the cell buildings\, and out the north door (near the entrance) onto King Street. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Registration\n				Race prices vary. Please check back when registration opens. \nRunners aged 13 and under are ineligible to run the 10K.Runners aged 15 and under are ineligible to run the Half Marathon. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Race Kit Pickup\n				NO SIGNUPS AT KIT PICKUPS. The Event offers tech shirts\, awards\, top finisher medals for both races\, top three age category medals\, top masters medals\, middle-of-the-pack prize\, and the opportunity at a cash prize for course records broken. \nThE 5K distance is part of the KRRA RACE SERIES. Series points awarded for this Race are 75 overall\, and 15 points for age category. \nThe Kids 1-Miler is included in the Kingston Kids Race Series. \nAs well\, the Napanee Heritage 5K Race is a partner and first of three running events comprising the Waterside Series. Run this event\, the Wolfe Island Classic (5K or 10K)\, and the Wooly Bully Races (5K or 10K) to receive a very cool and exclusive custom medal.
