DESCRIPTION:Limestone Race Weekend\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Event Details\n				Limestone Race Weekend includes a 5K Race\, the Waterfront 10K\, or the Historic Half Marathon Race. There’s even a 2K Tom Compton Memorial Run for kids.  It’s the original\, all-volunteer community event. \nThis running event is part of the KRRA RACE SERIES. Series points awarded for the 5K and 10K Races are 75 overall\, and 15 points for age category. The Half Marathon points are 100 overall\, and 20 points for age category. \n  \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Location & Schedule\n				Saturday\, April 24th — Kingston Penitentiary – east side parking lot.3pm: Bib/kit pickup start.4pm: TCM Kids 2K Race start.5pm: Waterfront 10K Race start.6:15pm: Awards Ceremony \nSunday\, April 25th – Confederation Park (Ontario St. & Market St.)\, across from Kingston City Hall8am: Bib/kit pickup start.9:30am: Historic Half Marathon Race start.10am: 5K Race start.11:30am: Awards Ceremony. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Race Maps and Descriptions\n				Saturday\nTommy Compton Memorial Run\nThe 2K course will include a segment that will take participants through the penitentiary and then out onto King Street to a turnaround location\, then return back through the penitentiary to the start/finish line. \nTom Compton was an active runner and biker who worked in the elementary education system. His focus was to help students achieve their goals\, not only in the classroom\, but also in sports and physical activities.  We are proud to host this event\, with the support of his family\, in his honour. \nWaterfront 10K\nThe 10K route will take runners through the penitentiary and exit onto King Street West\, through the Olympic harbour ring road and link up with the Waterfront Trail.  This will include a segment through the Providence Care Hospital roadway network before continuing on the Lakefront Trail.  Runners will be guided to a turnaround location inside Lake Ontario Park near the corner of King Street West. Runners will return to the start/finish line\, on the east side of the penitentiary following the same network of trails and roads. \nSunday\n5K from City Hall\n \nHistoric Half Marathon\nThe Historic Half Marathon course makes an exciting detour. Half marathon runners are going to prison: the Kingston Penitentiary. Runners enter the south waterside entrance; run in the gate; through the prison yard; past the cell buildings\, and out the north door (near the entrance) onto King Street. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Registration\n				Race prices vary. Please check back when registration opens. \nRunners aged 13 and under are ineligible to run the 10K.Runners aged 15 and under are ineligible to run the Half Marathon. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Race Kit Pickup\n				NO SIGNUPS AT KIT PICKUPS. Race registration closes midnight April 22nd. \nFriday April 23rd 4pm-7pm. All finishers earn a custom designed medal. \n5K\, 10K\, and Half Marathon Races each: Awards for Top 3 Female and Top 3 Male athletes. Top 3 Age Category prizes for 10-and-under\, 11-19\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60-69\, and 70+.  \n5K prizes: 1st – $150\, 2nd – $100\, 3rd – $ 50\nWaterfront 10K: 1st – $200\,  2nd – $150\, 3rd
