Wooly Bully Races

2026 Wooly Bully Races
Event Details
The races have moved to a new site, located on the South Shore Road, west of the Stella 40 Foot Road, at the residence of Reta Brown. The site is very suitable to host the event, including parking.
Instead of starting running from east to west along the South Shore Road, the new route will take runners west to east and back. The same scenic route along Lake Ontario will remain. The race site is now closer to Stella, approximately 4 kilometres from the ferry dock.
Please note that the ferry over to Amherst Island runs on the half hour from the Millhaven dock on Highway 33, just east of Bath, Ontario. The 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. ferries will get you to the race in plenty of time. The 9:30 a.m. ferry will not get participants to the race in time. Carpooling is greatly encouraged.
The ferry leaves from the Stella dock on the hour. Updates will be provided closer to the race date on this website and the Wooly Bully Facebook page with travel options for race day.
Thinking of taking your bicycle across on the ferry? The Race start is a 4 km distance from the Ferry Dock in Stella to the race site.
The annual Wooly Bully races are the main source of support and funding for the Neilson Store Museum. We are happy to help promote this event and appreciate the support of all the volunteers and participants.
Deadline to purchase a race t-shirt is July 30th and can be purchased during the online registration process.
This running event is part of the KRRA RACE SERIES. Series points awarded for this Race are 75 overall, and 15 points for age category
The Kids 1-KM is included in the Kingston Kids Race Series.
As well, the Wooly Bully Races is a partner and first of three running events which make up the Waterside Series. Run this event, the Wolfe Island Classic (5K or 10K), and the Napanee Heritage (5K) to receive a very cool and exclusive custom medal. Here is last year’s medal:

Parking pre-ferry
There will be TWO shuttle school buses bringing runners from the ferry to the Race. Parking and walking onto the ferry is strongly recommended.
Two places to freely and safely park: the Amherst Ferry parking lot, and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 623 (an 8 minute walk).
