The KRRA Road and Trail Series consists of the following races:
RESOLUTION RUN 8K is held in early January and is the first of the year in the KRRA’s series and a KRRA directed event. It is a great way to shake of the winter blahs and burn some of those Christmas calories. The Resolution Run is 8K and often sub-zero temperatures. In 2018, this race moves back to the venue that includes the Kingston Military Sports Complex, the campus of RMC and CFB Kingston. Dress in layers. Earn your first running shirt of the year. TWOSOME RUN 5K is held in mid-February, in support of the Kingston Food Sharing Project. Teams consisting of one female and one male runner are eligible for combined age awards. In 2018, this race moves to a new venue on Gore Road in Kingston East. Click here for more details.
LIMESTONE RACE WEEKEND – 5K /10K /Half-Marathon occurs on the last weekend in April. The 10K is on Saturday at MacDonald Park on the waterfront; net proceeds got to The KGH Trauma Unit. The 5K and Half-marathon start and finish at historic Kingston City Hall; a donation is made to Start2Finish. There is also a Kids 2K Run at MacDonald Park 3:30pm on the Saturday. HOWE ISLAND HUSTLE 8K usually held on the second Saturday in May. This is an out-n-back on the pastoral Howe Island. There is a barbeque included and a kids 1-mile race. Click here for more details.
BEAT BEETHOVEN 8K takes place on the first Sunday in June. Start and finish are in front of City Hall in historic downtown Kingston. Funds raised support the Kingston Symphony Association. Click here for more details.
LIMESTONE MILE occurs every Canada Day in downtown Kingston. The start is adjacent to the downtown market and the finish is in front of City Hall. This year a donation was made to Interval House. Click here for more details.
WOLFE ISLAND CLASSIC 5K takes place on the first Sunday in July on Wolfe Island. There is also a 10K and a Kids race. Click here for more details.
GLEN TAY BLOCK RACE 14.7K This 100+ year old race takes place on the last Thursday night in August in downtown Perth, Ontario. It has been added to the KRRA Race Series for 2018. Click here for more details.
WOOLY BULLY 10K There is also a 5K and a FREE Kids race. It takes place on the third Sunday of August on Amherst Island. It is a fundraiser for extracurricular activities at Amherst Public School. Click here for more details.
FORT HENRY 5KXC the only cross-country race in the series. This is the third Saturday in September. There is also a Kids 1K Race. It’s two loops on the cross country trail atop Fort Henry. Click here for more details.
PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY MARATHON (aka Picton Marathon) is held in late September or early October. Country roads make for a beautiful and scenic race event. Both the half marathon and full marathon races are part of the point system. Click here for more details.
ANNIVERSARY RUN 10K is the first Sunday in November. It starts and finishes at The Landings Golf & Teaching Centre and takes runners through a scenic course in the west end of Kingston. There is also a kids One-Miler Cross Country Race before the adult event. Click here for more details.
